Galioto Farmhouse at the railway-station Montemaggiore Belsito is a charming farmhouse located in the valley of Torto. Whether your intentions are to come for the orange-picking time in winter, the fall foliage or a spring or summer retreat, you'll find everything you need for a great family vacation.
The house has twentyfive beds deviced in six rooms with six baths. The house is tastefully decorated with Early Sicilian furniture and decorations. A large deck with BBQ grill overlooks the pastures.
There is a family area furnished with couches and television/cd-player, a sunny breakfast table, dining/music room with a fireplace and a large farm dining table that seats ten. A large living room has a fireplace and picture window that overlooks the pastures. There are complete sets of sheets, blankets, towels, tablecloths, and placemats provided. The laundry has a new washer/dryer.
Awake to soothing fresh country air that will inspire you to prepare a good hearty breakfast in the large kitchen, equipped with new appliances, such as a refrigerator with ice maker, self-cleaning oven/stove, microwave, dishwasher, and a variety of small appliances. Utensils, dishes are provided so there is no extra baggage on your part. At the local store you'll find excellent cheeses, fresh produce, homebaked breads and, of course our organic olive oil (don't go home without some).
The best of all in this place is the connection to the railway. When you arrive at Punta Raisi airport, take the train to Palermo central station and than change and go directly to Montemaggiore Belsito (40 minutes from Palermo). At your arrival you're nearly done, 100 meters and you are in the farmhouse. And don't worry, there are only three trains in the morning and three in the afternoon, none by night..
The advantage of the train is that it connects you to nice excursions to Palermo, Agrigento and all other stations arround and last but not least, in 10 minutes, it brings you to the beach and right in time back for lunch, same thing in the afternoon.
Fantastic courses for half- or fullday mountainbike trips, horsebackriding, swimmingpool and tenniscourt.
